SAP WM maintenance end as of 2026
Into the Future with Ease: HPC.Connector!
Why is SAP WM no longer supported?
Challenges for companies during the transition
Companies currently using SAP WM face the challenge of choosing between two alternatives – Stock Room Management or EWM. Each option comes with specific advantages and disadvantages:
- Stock Room Management: Maintaining Familiar Functions
SRM is ideal for companies that do not plan major changes to their warehouse processes. It offers largely familiar functions from SAP WM. - Limitations in Stock Room Management: Loss of Certain Functions
Some features that were available in SAP WM are no longer included in Stock Room Management. Of particular concern is the removal of the WCU interface for automatic warehouses starting in 2026. - Overview of the WM-WCU Interface
The WM-WCU interface connects the WM system with automatic warehouses or storage lifts. This interface sends an IDoc of type WMTORD via a function module, containing information such as material, quantity, and storage location, which is interpreted as a picking order.
Starting in 2026, this interface will no longer be supported, forcing many companies to seek an alternative. - Complexity of the WCU Interface
The connection to automatic warehouses usually involves bidirectional communication:
- A picking order is sent via IDoc.
- Feedback is received through an inbound IDoc.
In more complex scenarios, additional IDoc types are used, such as for cancellation requests or confirmations. While these increase the level of automation in material flow control, they also add complexity and effort to the transition.
Companies that still operate automatic warehouses, automated guided vehicles, or high-bay warehouses and use the WCU interface will therefore need an appropriate solution.
HPC.Connector: The Solution for Your Interface Management
The HPC.Connector provides a fast and efficient solution to manage the transition to modern interface technology. With this tool, companies can easily manage their interfaces without worrying about data formats or the discontinuation of IDocs.
Features of HPC.Connector:
- Preconfigured Mapping: Data is structured and transferred to the SAP application, regardless of the chosen communication format.
- Flexibility: In addition to standard SAP implementations, class-based actions can be created individually.
- Logging: The processing status of each message is saved, enabling targeted analysis.
- Cockpit: A graphical interface for monitoring and effectively analyzing exchanged messages.
Applications of HPC.Connector:
- Stock Room Management (SRM) in S/4HANA
- EWM basic (embedded/extended) in S/4HANA
- EWM-MFS in S/4HANA and EWM Standalone (TCP/IP Telegrams)
Maximum Transparency through Interface Monitoring
The interface monitor of the HPC.Connector ensures full transparency of the exchanged information. Messages can be linked to business objects, allowing the message flow to be directly viewed from the familiar SAP transactions.
With the HPC.Connector, you can make the transition to modern technologies efficient and future-proof.
