SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) is SAP's warehouse management system (WMS) for mapping and organizing medium-sized to large warehouses. SAP EWM is fully integrated with SAP S/4HANA and has been ranked among the top warehouse management systems by Gartner for several years.
The right solution for every requirement
SAP EWM has a significantly extended range of functions compared to the other SAP warehouse management systems - for example, it works natively with inventory-managed handling units or serial numbers.
Another unique selling point of the EWM is the control of automatic warehouses with the integrated material flow system (MFS) directly without middleware via telegrams. The MFS enables the connection of automatic warehouses, conveyor technology, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMR), pick-by-light, etc.
With S/4HANA, ERP and EWM are on one system
If SAP EWM is used as a version integrated in S/4HANA ("embedded"), there is no need for an interface to a possible ERP third-party system or for duplicate data storage.
