What is the difference between SAP EWM, Stock Room Management and Logistics Management?

SAP EWM is the feature-rich warehouse management for complex and automated warehouses. Stock Room Management carries on the basic functions of SAP WM in S/4HANA for simple, manual warehouses. SAP Logistics Management is a cloud solution that combines warehouse and transport for local sites and satellite warehouses.

Do I need SAP EWM or is Stock Room Management enough?

That depends on your warehouse. For simple, mostly manual processes, Stock Room Management can be enough. As soon as processes become more complex or you want to automate, SAP EWM is the better fit. We clarify this in the free initial call.

What is material flow control (MFS)?

MFS controls automated systems such as automated warehouses, conveyor systems, automated guided vehicles and robots directly from SAP EWM. Separate middleware is not needed for this.

Can I control warehouse and transport in one system?

Yes. In S/4HANA you can run warehouse management (EWM), transportation management (TM) and ERP modules in one instance. That saves interfaces and makes data flows continuous. For smaller sites, SAP Logistics Management combines warehouse and transport in the cloud.
