SAP ITSmobile
SAP delivers simple screens in the standard for many modules, which are designed for conversion into HTML pages via the ITSmobile framework. However, many companies also extend this functionality and have created their own screens, which in turn are converted into web pages.
For smaller mobile processes, this solution can be quite attractive, as it can be set up with relatively little effort and does not require any capabilities on the end device other than a browser.
However, this outdated technology also has various disadvantages:
- The user interface is outdated
- Scaling to multiple device types is not possible without additional development effort
- Performance is rather moderate due to the high volume of data required for the rendering
